Nuby replacement spouts are products are made by the well known and respected company called Luv 'n Care. One of their most popular products is the 10 ounce Nuby sippy cup. It comes in an assortment of bright colors and has a no spill, no drip, soft, silicone spout that babys and toddlers alike seem to like to drink from and yes, chew on.
Time after time again, parents and grandparents would toss away their toddler's favorite cups which are made of a non-toxic plastic. That was such a waste in many ways. Nuby decided it was time to make at least one nuby replacement spout. They chose the 10 oz sippy cup because it is their best selling cup. Now Nuby sippy cup lovers all over the world no longer have to throw away their 10 oz cups. All they have to do is replace the spouts.
If the cups are so great, why do the spouts wear out? Just like any other silicone product, when it is used repeatedly, it begins to wear through normal use. Toddlers rarely use the Nuby sippy cup normally when they decide that it should become their new favorite chew toy. The spouts are nice and soft and as the toddler squeezes the spouts between his/her teeth and uses it to chew on, after time, the spout will start to drip. That's a sure sign that the spout needs to be replaced.
It is very important to check the Nuby spouts regularly (just as you should your baby's pacifier) to make sure the spout is not beginning to get worn. If it is leaking it is a sure sign that the spout needs to be replaced.
Nuby has made replacing the spouts on the 10 oz cups very convenient. Although hard to find in most stores, the nuby replacement spouts are available on Ebay and in some select Walmarts and Sears stores nationwide. They come two in a package. It's a good rule of thumb to keep several on hand, especially if your child is teething or chewing on the spouts.
The spouts are inexpensive. Now there is no need to toss away the plastic cup into the landfill or recycle bin. The cups can be used over and over again with the new spouts. Changing them is as simple as popping one out and popping the next one in. Just make sure you put water in the sippy cup with the new spout on it to make sure the seals are lined up properly so the liquid doesn't leak out around the rim of the lid.
Some Nuby lovers are just waiting for Nuby to come out with other sizes of replacement spouts and even the rims that sometimes get lost. So far there is no word from Luv n Care that they are planning on manufacturing any other sizes in the near future.
